DISCONTINUED.. After much deliberation I have decided to discontinue the Nuévo single-coil pickup. There are two reasons for this: first there has been a noticeable attitude-shift: most players today just are not willing to tolerate any noise and often fail to realize that all single-coil pickups are a bit noisy even in the best playing circumstances (which is why "humbucking" hum-cancelling designs were invented). Hence, many players were complaining about the noise from the Nuévo and ended up trading in for my amazing new Micro-Manouche pickup which everyone apparently loves. Secondly, due to the aforementioned popularity of the Micro-Manouche pickup sales of the Nuévo have slown to a trickle. Thus, I have decided to retire the Nuévo and instead offer the Micro-Manouche in both Chrome and Black and Brass finishes. This is a good idea since the Micro-Manouche was initially desgined to be a "noiseless- Nuévo" and I firmly believe (and players attest) that the Micro-Manouche successfully preserves the tone of the Nuévo—but without the noise.

DISCONTINUED. After much deliberation I have decided to discontinue making single-coil pickups including the Nuévo. There are two reasons for this: First there has been a noticeable generational-shift in that most players today just are not willing to tolerate any noise and often fail to realize that all single-coil pickups are a bit noisy even in the best playing circumstances (which is why "humbucking" i.e., hum-cancelling designs were invented). This makes sense, since the Micro-Manouche pickup was initially desgined to be a "noiseless- Nuévo" . I firmly believe (and players attest) that the Micro-Manouche successfully preserves the tone of the Nuévo—but without the noise. So please, give the Micro-Manouche a listen, I guarantee you'll love it or your money back!

The Nuevo Chrome pickup is the most "traditional" pickup in the Krivo line: it has a bright and clear vintage tone, but without the harshness often found in vintage single coils. The Nuévo compliments just about any guitar: from Gypsy-Jazz axes to old-school archtops. But don't take my word for it: hear for your self in the following video demo by Jeff Matz:

"Got the Nuevo: I hate to make pronunciations of the heavens opening up and the second coming, because, like you, I've owned over 50 guitars, and just about every type of amplifier and pickup system available. I've had pro endorsements and have been GIVEN tons of gear. That being said, this thing is far and away the best pickup I've ever used for a gypsy guitar. It actually emphasizes all the good points of the guitar and eliminates most of the bad points. I am just blown away!" —Jack Fields: Swing Guitarist |
