NEW for 2019: the Micro Manoúche Humbucking pickup for Gypsy Jazz Guitars.
Introducing my new Micro-Manouche pickup for Gypsy and Traditional Jazz guitars. Not just a "gypsy" pickup, this little marvel is turning out to be a favorite among archtop jazz players, and even on world-music instruments like the indian veena and balalaika!
Simple and effective: The Micro-Manóuche has been 10 years in the making: my design intention was to combine the best features of my most successful pickups for jazz guitar (Mini Humbucker, Nuevo and PAF) into a simple and cost-effective pickup housed in a beautiful laser-engraved brass-plated cover.. After much experimentation I am proud to say that the new Micro Manouche is the the most affordable, well-balanced and versatile Krivo Humbucker available: Clarity and warmth with a bit of a gritty edge to the tone. The Micro Manouche is warmer with hotter output than my Nuevo and Djangobucker pickups but ismore "acoustic" sounding than my Micro-Stealth PAF.
The Micro Manouche has exceptionally great string-to-string balance: this pickup completely solves the balance issues which have beset other magnetic pickups for gypsy-jazz guitars.
The Micro-Manouche is the best Krivo Pickup for D-hole and F-hole Gypsy Jazz Guitars, but excels on every type of guitar.
Krivo Humbucking Pickup for Resophonic Guitars.
Only 6mm thick, the Krivo Humbucking Pickup for Resophonic Guitar is optimized tonally and aesthetically to suit all resonator instruments including Squarenecks, single cones, tricones, and Dobros. My proprietary Optimized Microphonics winding technique faithfully captures the sound of your particular instrument. The Krivo Resophonic pickup comes in an attractive nickel finish to match the classic appearance of metal-bodied resonator instruments. However, this pickup is also fantastic on wood-bodied instruments and a variety of wood finishes may be special ordered to suit your particular guitar. No preamp is necessary, just plug in to any guitar or acoustic amp, or via a direct-box straight into a P.A. system. The pickup mounts and removes effortlessly with included finish-safe putty.
The Krivo Pickup for Upright Bass
Rapidly becoming the world-standard magnetic pickup for upright bass. The Krivo is fully adjustable for perfect string balance and mounts easily with included fastener. The incorporation of my proprietary Optimized Microphonics™ technique results in a surprisingly "acoustic" sound. The Krivo will fit virtually any upright bass (just please remember: you must use steel-core strings for any magnetic pickup to work properly). The Krivo also excels on electric upright basses (EUBs).
The Petít-Boúche Djangobucker: THE Humbucking Pickup for Oval-hole Gypsy Jazz Guitars
The Djangobucker perfectly recesses into the idiosyncratic fretboard cutaway of petít-bouche guitars for a "seamless" look. At only 6mm thick, the Djangobucker will fit virtually ANY oval-hole guitar.
Do you play a D-Hole (Grande Boúche) Gypsy guitar?—then I highly recommend my Micro Manoúche (humbucker), or Nuevo Chrome (single-coil) pickup which are the best Krivo pickups for D-hole or F-hole gypsy guitars.
The Chrome Nuévo: A Versatile Single Coil Pickup for Jazz Guitars.
The most traditional pickup in the Krivo line, the Nuevo single-coil pickup is the Krivo pickup which is closest in sound and appearance to the traditional Stimer™ pickups popularized by Django Reinhardt during his late electric period but without the harshness and poor balance evinced by the vintage Stimers. However, this is not merely a "gypsy-jazz" pickup: the Nuevo excels on archtop jazz guitars and resonator guitars. Furthermore, the Nuevo has a much higher output and lower noise than competing single-coil pickups. It has a wide dynamic range and superior headroom as only neodymium powered pickups can obtain.
Micro-Stealth PAF-Style Pickup for Archtop Jazz Guitar
Only a few left!
The most innovative pickup for Jazz-guitar in decades, the Micro-Stealth is an ultra-slim (6mm) thick, Jazz PAF humbucker initially designed for for “old-school” style archtop guitars which have a very small amount of space between the soundboard and the strings (e.g., vintage guitars such as Gibson L5, L7, Kay, Harmony, Silvertone, and “modern” archtops such as the Godin 5th avenue, Loar LH-600, or Eastman El Rey). However, the Micro-Stealth is now featured on select archtops by Emerald and Fibonacci.
The Micro-Stealth PAF is Engineered for a warm, clean and flattering "Jazz" sound. Uses custom manufactured low-intensity neodymium magnets and real hardwood spacers to achieve a vintage tone with a modern "bite," strong attack, and three-dimensional sounding overtones.
